Retired Capt. Jack Wingate, a 90-year-old veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, suited up for an airborne jump before a D-Day commemoration in Carentan-les-Marais, France.

Wingate enlisted in 1953 and continues to inspire generations with his dedication and spirit.

This past week, more than 600 U.S. service members participated in over 90 commemorative events across Normandy, honoring the legacy of D-Day.
