LNF Dog Rescue

Just love this! I provide food, treats & water to the animals who live in my yard every day. Generations of squirrels, Cardinals, starlings, and my favorite, my handsome Woodpecker, and a host of birds who stop by for food & water. Last week, I heard baby starlings asking their moms for food. They were almost the same size as their moms, but still needed her to feed them. I put shelled peanuts & popcorn on my porch & the mom starling came to eat & their babies followed. I watched intently as if I were watching a favorite TV show. Delighted to see nature at its best. By the 3rd day, the chicks started pecking at the food themselves, & I saw them learn to feed themselves. Couldn't have been happier! If you can't afford to feed them, at least leave a bowl of water for them & put rocks in the water for the bees who need water but can drown if they can't get out.

I always remember how much it hurt & burned my little feet when I was a kid, walking barefoot on the beach. WOW -- never did that again! The same goes for dogs' paws -- if you wouldn't walk barefoot, please don't make them do it!

Dear Mom and Dad,
Let me stay home. It's not nice for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So, I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. And feel my paws burn.
I'm looking at you for a moment, but you do not understand. Because in a little over 5 minutes, we're at the cool puddle, right? But those little 5 minutes can be fatal to me. Because I sweat through my paws, I just cannot get rid of the sweat in this heat. My whole body is boiling, but I keep going .....
And then I ended up on the tarmac. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes flashing in the sun. My paws are burning, my tongue is dry, and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of ...
Instead, let me stay at home, where I can enjoy the sun in a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. And best of all, like in a cool area with grass.

If I ever see a child or dog suffering in a car, rest assured, I will break the window (I have a tool in my van to break windows) to save them & I'm willing to face any consequences for my actions!
