Dragonfly Whispers

Every year, one of my favorite memories with my Grandmother, on August 15th.
She gave me such a love of the ocean and beach. Always “down the shore” I think that’s why to this day, my favorite place in the world to be is walking along the edge of the water, lost in my thoughts. It’s the only place I feel like I can release, balance and regenerate myself for whatever reason. Or just sitting near the edge of the water early in the morning before the beach gets crowded, or late afternoon when it’s quiet….you think living near the beach I would go more often? 🤔 Something not quite right with this picture. I don’t want to lay on the beach and sunbathe all damn day but I do miss walking on the beach…maybe I need to start doing that again!
🌊 The blessing of the ocean is a tradition that dates back to 15th century Italy. It's often performed on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15th, and involves people putting their feet in the ocean to experience the water's healing properties. The tradition is believed to have started when a bishop threw his ring into the ocean during a storm on the Feast of the Assumption, calming the waters. 🌊
