Work on the Biddeford side of the Riverwalk continues — revealing not a repair job but a fullly re-imagined community asset of the future. City officials have been sparse on details, however I’m speculating we’ll be able to enjoy the new attraction by late summer.

INSET: 1945 Main Street was a bustling marketplace adjacent to the Pepperell Mill complex, manufacturer of cotton goods for a worldwide market. F.W. Woolworth, better known as “the Five and Dime,” actually sold goods and soda fountain treats in that price range. Today the space is occupied by Thai Me and Flourish Arts. Mill history tours are open for booking on Thursday and Saturday at 10:30 — starting from the Building 18 lobby at 2 Main Street. #1945
