But at first, your new dog does not yet understand that the entire house is their living and sleeping space. 1️⃣ Start by creating a great small indoor space for your dog. For example, start with a small space in the living room for them to play before generalizing the whole living room as their space. Slowly over time, give your dog access to the entire house room-by-room with constant supervision, along with taking them outside for potty breaks very often. 2️⃣ Create these small areas using baby gates and a puppy playpen 3️⃣ If you are not using a playpen, have your dog on a leash indoors.
