FOUR words that can shift you to better living. 05/21/2026

Busy day? (Probably.)
The aim for all our busy days?
Get stuff done. (And make progress doing all the stuff.)

I think, we would all agree...
We spend our busy days getting stuff done to...
go forwards with dreams and plans.

Forwards...is a super great direction.

But, often we feel stagnated.
Like our wheels are spinning – taking us nowhere.
Or, we feel like downward spirals are tugging us backwards.

What if FOUR words...could help you go forwards?

The latest Create-Today episode explains how my
"Going FourWords" Framework helps you,
well... go forward.

Ever have a project that you can't stop tweaking?
Ever have an important email sit in your drafts folder...because it isn't "quite right" yet?

Ever replay a horrible meeting or conversation over and over and over in your head?

If you thought...yep...that's me...
It's time to understand the power of the word "RELEASE"

It's time to RELEASE...and let go of:
That project that is almost done.
The email sitting in drafts.
The pitch you keep rehearsing but never actually pitch.
The dream you keep almost pursuing.

Here is what I have come to understand after years of working with creatives...

Most procrastination is not a discipline problem.
Most perfectionism doesn't actually revolve around being perfect.

It is fear of the RELEASE.
Fear of the judgment, rejection, or perceived failure of your precious work and dreams...and self worth.

NOTE: This fear (of letting go) has a real cost.

In this week's podcast episode of Create Today,
I am sharing the fourth and final word in my
"Going FourWords" framework.

I think it might be the most useful word in the "FourWords" framework word quartet.

The word is RELEASE.

Here's your takeaways:
• Why your nervous system cannot tell the difference between a real threat and one you're only imagining
• How self-compassion outperforms discipline every time when it comes to moving forward
• Seven practical (simple) ways to release what you are holding onto—to catapult you FOURwords. (Pun intended)
• Why "enough" and "done" is not giving up – it is courageous.

If you have been carrying something you were never meant to hold onto forever, this episode is for you.

Ever break a promise to your best friend?
Probably not. Or not very often.

Ever promise yourself...I'll rest, sleep better, move more...tomorrow?
Hmmm... seems like maybe you have broken a promise.

It is not a mystery that we need to pull away from our screens and social media...that we need to get outdoors (more)...that we need to move (more)...but most of us just promise ourselves that we'll do it...later.

You know something needs to change.
And still, nothing changes.

In the latest episode of Create Today, I am exploring exactly why knowing you need better self care is not enough, and what actually moves the needle on wellbeing that can be accomplished (consistently).

It comes down to one word: Refine. And it is not what you think.

Check it out. You'll find it might be easier than you thought to keep your promise of self care...to you (your best friend.)

For decades I worked on deadlines and overtime.

The days were a blur of come in early. Stay late. (Really late)

I never missed a deadline.
But I missed a lot of sleep.

I existed on coffee.
I believed sleep was an extra bank of hours to use when deadlines needed more time.
I thought I could catch up on some zzz's on weekends.

But. I was. Wrong.
I was pretty much...always, chronically—tired.

Ask yourself:
When was the last time you felt truly rested?
Not just a little better.
Not “I sat down for a few minutes (but also read emails.)”

I mean... Actually rested.

If you're thinking “I honestly don’t remember”
I see you.
Episode #123 of Create Today was made for you.

I’m kicking off a series built around my
"Going FourWords" Wellbeing Framework.
Those four words are:
Revive, Realize, Refine, Release.

We start with the word most of us skip over—even when we’re running on empty:
REVIVE.

Here’s what I’ve learned in my own life and through coaching others...
People who feel stuck and overwhelmed...
They are NOT lacking discipline,
They are NOT procrastinating
They are NOT lazy

They’re depleted.
(Is this you?)

In episode I’m sharing the science behind what exhaustion does to your brain.

You'll discover a simple 60-second energy check-in
and seven practical ways to start restoring your energy today

These are things you can do now...NOT after things calm down 💚 (because let’s be honest, they never really do).
