The service has now been completely turned off. I am talking to a number of companies that have expressed interest in the service and will update this page should one of the discussions bear fruit.

CRITICAL NOTICE: The following email was sent to all customers on Sunday last week. Some of you may not have received it (check your spam folders / you may have unsubscribed from email notices):

Dear customer,

Regrettably, GotoCamera has run out of cash; despite our best efforts, we have been unable to raise additional money.

We are looking for a buyer that may want to pick up the GotoCamera service and may want to continue offering it to you. However, there is no guarantee that this will happen, in what time frame it may happen, whether it will be under the GotoCamera name, what the pricing may be, etc.

I have been personally bearing the costs for a while to keep the service running, but, as you can imagine, these costs are not insignificant and I do not expect to be in a position to keep the service up beyond February 9. I therefore encourage you to expeditiously find alternatives for your monitoring needs.

While I do not know of any 100%-fit alternatives to GotoCamera, I am exploring the environment to see if I could point out some products and services which could substantially mitigate your discomfort. And I promise to revert to you on this.

In parting, my co-founder - Li Yi - and I would like to express our most sincere gratitude for having made us a part of your lives and we very deeply regret any inconvenience the closure of our service may cause to you.

URGENT STORM UPDATE: As you may know, GotoCamera's servers are hosted in NYC. Hurricane Sandy is currently battering the city and has regrettably knocked down power and telecommunications lines, severely affecting our hosting facility. GotoCamera is currently unavailable. We'll keep you updated through our Facebook and Twitter feeds.
