Community Action Agency of NW Alabama receives $1.34M grant FLORENCE — The Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama has been awarded a $1.34 million grant to help low-income households with utility costs during cold winter and hot summer months.

TVP wanted to give back to our community because you’ve been so very good to us and tried to think of a creative way to do it. So we’re going to have a little football season fun and let the community vote!

For the next 6 weeks (now 4!), we will make a post on Monday and you have until Friday at 5pm to vote for your school team. You can vote by commenting for your favorite school team on TVP’s original post that week. Feel free to be creative with emojis and pictures so we can celebrate our schools. The winner will be announced on Saturday morning!

Whichever school wins that week, we will donate $2000 to that school the following week: $800 will go to sports, $200 will go to band, $200 will go toward school nurse supplies, and $800 will go to reading/literacy programs to honor our Reach Out and Read initiative where we promote reading and children get free books at their checkups.

99% of our patients come from Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale and Marion counties in Alabama and Tishomingo County in Mississippi. Therefore, we are limiting school choices to any high school, public or private, in these counties. Only one vote per FB account. You do not have to be a TVP patient/family to vote. A school can only win once. Employees of TVP cannot vote.
