Muscatine High School Rugby

Today wraps up the 15’s rugby season.

The last 3 weeks have been a fun experience for us all to introduce the high school boys to the game of 15s.
We combined with players from Iowa City West, Geneseo, and Clinton to make up the “River Valley” team.

It has been awesome seeing these boys, that just finished a 7s season competing against each other, come together and build a bond to battle for each other!

We look forward to seeing the game of 15s continue to grow at the high school level in the state of Iowa!

What a night!
The boys took home 6th place at the 1A State tournament after coming in as the 8th seed!
We dropped our first game in a hard fought battle with eventual State Champions and #1 seed Indianola. In our second game of the night we had a huge win over #4 seed Clinton to make it to the 5th place match which we lost to the #6 team Crestwood.
We had a few individual honors on the night as well:
Emmett Metcalf - All-State Honorable Mention
Brody Buhman - 1st Team All-State
Cody Austin - 1A Coach Of The Year

We have a ton to be proud of as a program, but we really owe a huge thanks to the incredible support we receive from the player’s families and Muscatine as a community, we couldn’t do any of this without you!

This wraps up our 7’s season and now we will transition into 3 weeks of 15’s.
