I was taking photos of this Woodstork perched in a tree. All of a sudden, a bug appears and SNAP! And then its spit back out and flies off like nothing happened!πI thought it might have been a Bee or Wasp but it turns out it was a Hoverfly ( researched with Googles help ). Luckily the Woodstork did not get stung in the mouth and this Hoverfly gets to see another day!

Have you ever seen something moving around in the mud but couldn't quite make out what it was? They might be Fiddler Crab and they sure are everywhere. They are a major diet resource for most of the wildlife that live in the marsh. Here is a closeup through a 400mm lens at 60fps. It was a little after sunrise and captured at Huntington Beach State Park behind the nature center. I hope everyone out there has a beautiful day!
