Move on.
But what if that’s the problem?
Read Dr. Gina Anderson’s article on how to build communities of learning where drivers learn from each other, not just from content or instructors.
Because drivers aren’t empty vessels. They’re carrying years of real-world experience.
When that experience gets shared:
• Learning becomes relevant.
• Engagement goes up.
• Retention improves.
And, maybe most importantly, drivers stop learning in isolation.
The industry has spent years asking, “How do we get drivers to complete training?”
A better question might be, “How do we get drivers to contribute to it?”
Because when learning becomes a conversation rather than a requirement, behavior actually starts to change.

National Safety Month tip:
Don’t just glance at cargo securement. Physically check it.
This week, focus 100% of your attention on straps and chains:
• Put hands on each one (don’t rely on a visual scan).
• Check for wear, fraying, or weakened links.
• Confirm proper tension before leaving and after the first few miles.
• Re-check anytime conditions change (like weather, stops, or load shifts).
Cargo issues don’t usually come from what you see—they come from what you assume.
Slow it down. Check it right.

June marks the start of National Safety Month, and it’s a good time to get back to basics.
Breakdowns don’t schedule themselves. Fires don’t wait for convenient timing. What matters is whether your drivers are ready when it happens.
This week’s focus: emergency roadside kits and fire preparedness.
Not just checking if they’re there, but asking the right questions:
• Is every kit complete?
• Does your driver know how to use it under pressure?
• When was the last time it was actually reviewed, not just signed off?
Equipment doesn’t save lives.
Prepared drivers do.
Take the time to walk through it. Open the kit. Run the scenario. Make it real.
If safety only lives on a checklist, it won’t show up when it counts.
