Heads up, everyone! The Pennsylvania DEP has issued an official air quality alert for Scranton and the surrounding areas as wildfire smoke from Canada and Minnesota moves directly into our region. The sky currently looks hazy yellow 🤮
Here is what you need to know to stay safe:
😷 The Schedule: We are currently under a Code Orange Alert, but conditions are expected to worsen into a Statewide Code Red Alert tomorrow, Thursday, July 16.
💨 The Impact: Fine particulate matter will be at unhealthy levels. You will likely notice hazy skies, a campfire-like smell, and a bit of a scratchy throat.
🏠 What to do: Limit your time outdoors, keep your windows closed, and run your AC on recirculation mode. Check on elderly neighbors, kids, and pets!
