Out now on Magic Door!
Her Favorite Disguise by The Melancholy Kings — streaming everywhere and available on vinyl.

From the opening jangle-pop of “Six Feet Down” to the wistful pull of “Kensington,” the album moves between sharp hooks and deeper emotional currents. “Bitcoin Elegy” pulses with urgency, while “Astor Place” and “UV” drift into dreamier, layered territory. And yes — there’s even a standout cover of Guided By Voices’ “Alex Bell.”

Mike Potenza, Scott Selig, Peter Horvath, and Paul Andrew make melodic rock that’s textured, cinematic, and a true headphone turner — with additional performances from Mac Gollehon (trumpet), Carolyn Jeselsohn (cello), Carl Riehl (accordion), Olivia Selig (vocals), Ray Ketchem (percussion), and Renée LoBue (vocals).

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ray Ketchem at Magic Door Recording, The Big Takeover’s Dave Franklin writes:

“I’m not sure what they put in the water in New Jersey, but this is the latest in a long line of impressive releases from producer/engineer Ray Ketchem at Magic Door Recording Studio. He might have the creative equivalent of the Fountain of Youth in the studio’s backyard, though I suspect the reality is that he is just good at his job. Damned good!”

✨ Out Today on Magic Door ✨

We’re proud to release Celeste Corsano’s new single “XS” — a shimmering, vulnerable, and fearless song about body image, perfection, and the pressure to measure up.

Produced by Ray Ketchem, XS features Celeste on vocals & keyboards, James Mastro on guitars, David Nagler on bass, and Ketchem on drums & synth bass. The cover painting is by Chris Corsano, with design by Ketchem.

Celeste says:

“XS is about feeling like an outsider and trying to fit in — insecurities about body image, success, and the trap of perfection. The lyrics come from clothing tags like XS and XXS, the fleeting satisfaction when they ‘fit,’ but also the deeper comparison to others’ success. It’s silly and sad, but true.”

🚨 Out now on Magic Door Record Label: “Jackie Glacier” by Grim Globs — a psych-ballad chronicling the uninspiring journey of one Jackie Glacier, who makes the long descent from cursed… to worst.

It’s jagged, jangly, and just weird enough to keep you listening twice. Grim Globs make indie rock that swerves away from expectation and into something far more interesting.

Based in Montclair, the Globs are a band of winners. They’ve got terrific wives, nice houses, strapping sons, intelligent daughters and their own cars and bicycles.

🎸 Band Personnel:
Rob Munk – guitar, vocals
Daniel London – guitar, vocals
Andrew Kueneman – bass, vocals

with Ray Ketchem on drums
