Our Date Night is opening for Derek David Johnson's other band Zoomtown Reunion this Friday night, the 17th, about 7pm at 56 Brewing in Minneapolis. There's no cover. If you have tickets for Paul McCartney the same night, find someone to give them to and come on over for a good time. ;-)

Zoomtown Reunion's very first live appearance is FRIDAY, OCT. 17. It's the same night as the Paul McCartney concert. We can't promise our show will be better than Sir Paul's but it will be a lot cheaper.

Hey y'all, put the negativity aside for a couple of hours this week. We're playing a quiet show at the Driftwood Char Bar, Thursday the 13th and then playing the Minneapolis Cider Company for the all too appropriate "Our Date Night on St Valentine's Day Night." Pick one or both and we'll see you there!
Another tune from our first show.
This is a song about Jomo Kenyatta who is admittedly a controversial person. He rose from a small rural village of the Kikuyu people to lead Kenya to freedom against the colonial powers that ruled it. Unfortunately, many consider his time as leader to be marred by the corruption surrounding him and favoritism to his own people. Still, during his rise to power he expressed great wisdom. "True democracy has no color distinction and it does not choose between black and white."
