Any pop-ups (see sample below) that appear on your computer screen "warning" that your computer is infected and asks you to call a phone number presented therein, is always a scam. Period.

Never call anyone directly from pop-up information.

Only call trusted local and legitimate IT people you know, such as CompuPeace, if you need help or have any questions. Scams like this use scare tactics to get the user to call out of fear, inadvertently give personal information over the phone, and allow the hackers access to your computer.
