A trip down memory lane …

Last month I had the opportunity to reconnect with some of my childhood friends at my 45th High School reunion (no, I wasn’t 10 when I graduated from high school … feel free to do the math 😂).

Despite a little uncertainty of how the night might unfold, I had an absolutely fabulous time and walked away with some amazing life lessons!

👫There’s just no friend quite like an old friend. Despite the fact that I’m the one who dropped the ball in regards to staying in touch with many of the friends I grew up with, there was an instant re-connection with my classmates, almost as if no time had passed at all.

❤️ The world is still filled with good, kind people! From the moment I stepped out of my car until the moment I got back in at the end of the night I was met with nothing but smiles, hugs, warm words of encouragement, endearing stories and lots and lots of laughter!

🚌 Revisiting your past helps you realize who you are today. An entire evening of “do you remember when?” stories reminded me of who I really am and how I got here. It was a beautiful reminder of a life well lived, how lucky I was to have such an amazing house growing up, filled with both love and laughter, and the wonderful people who’ve impacted my life along the way.

📚 Sometimes the school of life helps shapes our stories in unexpected ways. One of my classmates is a very successful television writer & producer (ever see Grey’s Anatomy?). Lucky for the world, she has also used her voice to speak out in favor of treating all people with dignity and respect. And apparently my 5th grade crush (who reminded me of the tinfoil ring he made for me when we were “an item”😂) spent time in Africa working on a clean water project. Another of my favorite classmates (who’s always had a generous heart and warm smile) has been an advocate on making gay marriage rights a reality! And the list goes on …

If the next generation of students just beginning to write their own life stories are half as incredible as my classmates have proven to be, the world is in great hands!! 🙌 🌍
