This year’s Ice Storm Drone Racing competition brought together student pilots and engineering teams for a weekend of high-level competition, where performance across multiple events determined overall standings.

Overall School Standings
1st – Grandville
2nd – MMS
3rd – Fox River

Consistency across both technical and racing events proved critical, with teams earning points throughout the competition to secure their final placements.

In the Pit Challenge, students were tested on real-world engineering skills under pressure.
1st – Grandville
2nd – Fox River
3rd – MMS

Two MMS teams advanced to the finals—Winnefred Black & Novika Punia and Thomas Williams & Nandini Parikh—representing half of the MMS field. In the final round, competitors were presented with an unknown problem: locating a severed wire, soldering the connection, and programming a blank flight controller. Drawing on experience and composure, Winnefred Black & Novika Punia successfully completed the challenge to earn a 3rd place finish out of 12 teams.

The Student Race highlighted speed, precision, and control in a double-elimination format.
1st – Fox River
2nd – Grandville
3rd – MMS

Out of 16 pilots advancing to the finals, 6 of MMS’s 8 pilots qualified: Prateek Narwal, Sophia Riordan, Taarush Allani, Bennett Skibicki, Liam Chandler, and Michael Repikov. The competition narrowed to a final four, where Michael Repikov represented MMS in the championship rounds. Competing in a “Chase the Ace” format, he delivered a strong performance, ultimately placing 3rd overall after a tightly contested finish.

Across all events, students demonstrated technical skill, adaptability, and competitive focus—highlighting the strength and growth of drone racing programs throughout the region.
