First Step Triathlon & Training

So proud of this man. He was able to train enough while also making multiple work trips this summer. His dedication and commitment to the process was inspiring. And he did this on a course with ~6000 feet of elevation gain on the bike, most of it in about 20 miles. Sezer Ulku, you are an IronMan again!

Had a nice surprise yesterday from . Placed 5th in the M50-54 age group for the Kinetic Cup. Got some pretty cool swag including a way to hang my favorite medals. Great way to finish the season. Now to start planning for 2024. How are you going to ?

So proud of this guy. Turning 50 and his first year of triathlons and he’s done a Sprint, Olympic and now an IronMan. I’m always amazed at athletes that do this distance. YOU ARE AN IRONMAN!!!

So sad and completely avoidable. I have done quite a few races that had incredibly HARD swims, but nothing like this. I’ve always appreciated RD’s who have cancelled the swim or the entire race due to unsafe conditions.

It is also incredible after the death at the Euro Championships earlier this year. For my athletes and any of my athlete friends, no race is worth your life. If it feels unsafe or wrong, pull out. There will be other races.

Cork Ironman event not sanctioned - Triathlon Ireland The organisers of a half Ironman triathlon in Co Cork in which two competitors died were told by the national governing body for triathlons that the event could not be sanctioned following a water safety assessment, Triathlon Ireland has said.

Fun and painful race weekend in Colonial Beach, VA. The swim with the jellyfish is NOT something I would recommend. What I WOULD recommend is staying at if you are ever down there. They have a killer arcade room that is like stepping back in time to the 80’s. “If you have the means, I highly recommend it…it is so choice!”
