Still tracking staff training on spreadsheets and paper? There's a better way — and it does a lot more than keep you audit-ready.

Join us TODAY at 2:00 PM CT for a free live webinar: Beyond Compliance: How the Right Learning Management System Can Transform Your School Nutrition Program.

Becki Swan (Co-Founder of FIG K12) will show you how districts are using their training data to make real workforce decisions — spotting promotion-ready staff, catching turnover risk early, and keeping every school consistent. Meeting USDA Professional Standards is just the starting point.

Whether you're shopping for an LMS or just curious what's possible, you'll walk away with practical ideas — even if you never buy FIG.

Everyone deserves to understand their training.

Cooks, servers, managers — every role in your program, from every background, speaking every language. That's not a nice idea. It's now built into the FIG K-12 Learning Management library.

By the numbers:
130+ school districts nationwide
14 languages fully dubbed
4,255 translated training videos
39 more languages available on demand

When your whole team can actually understand the training, compliance stops being a scramble and starts being the baseline. That's exactly what we're unpacking in our upcoming webinar, "Beyond Compliance: How the Right LMS Can Transform Your School Nutrition Program," on July 9.

Second Period at the 2nd Annual FIG Family Reunion belonged to Marla Letourneau of Peterson Farms Fresh — and she delivered.

Her session, "Buy American Without the Guesswork," cut straight through the confusion that trips up so many programs at audit time. What actually qualifies as domestic? How do you document it? When do the two allowed exceptions apply? And with the non-domestic cap tightening from 10% today to 8% in 2028-29 and 5% by 2031-32, how do you get your program ready years ahead?

Marla brought real credibility to the room: 10 years as a K-12 specialist in Anne Arundel County, a child nutrition and legislative advocate, and a USDA procurement and commodity expert who has genuinely seen both sides of the lunch tray. Her big takeaway stuck with everyone: domestic sourcing isn't a slogan on a sign — it's a line item you have to prove.

And when it comes to products you can prove, Peterson Farms Fresh sets the standard. Their apple juice, slices, and sauce are Product of the USA — the kind of audit-ready sourcing story every program wants on the line.

This is what happens when an entire industry shows up for the same mission.

One day. Pensacola Blue Wahoos Stadium. The 2nd Annual FIG Family Reunion — and a room full of directors, partners, site and support staff, state agency leaders, elected officials, and yes, a few good dogs. Everybody who makes school nutrition work, in one place.

That's not an accident. That's what this community is — people who refuse to settle for "good enough" for the kids they serve. And the energy you feel in this video doesn't end when the day does. It's the same spirit we built FIG K-12 around: bringing the whole house together with professional development, finance, POS, and special diets in one place, so excellence becomes repeatable.

If this is the kind of community you want to be part of, come find out what FIG can do for your program: https://swan.figk-12.com
