Deb was a long-time friend of FFFR. Starting early in our history, when our founder was alive and Deb was the Newington ACO, we pulled a number of dogs from her and she was an advisor, friend, and valued partner as well. Kim, our founder, said to me (Leslie Rich, current FFFR President) once, "If Deb tells you something about a dog, you'd better listen to what she's telling you. She knows what she's talking about!" Kim was absolutely right! She and Deb collaborated as trainers with dogs. They brainstormed together. And when Kim passed away unexpectedly, Deb was virtually the first person to reach out and lend her strength and support to our rescue as we grieved and regrouped.

Her loss is personal, but it is also a huge loss to the animal welfare community. We drew on her expertise as a trainer often, and she was so very generous in sharing her experience with us.

Rest easy, Deb. I personally will miss you loads, and the loss to animal advocacy in CT can't be overstated.

Chip and Kona are in boarding until we can find foster or forever homes for them (we will be posting them - AGAIN! - separately). Each dog costs $1,000/month to board. Additionally, they are now due for their annual exams, tests, and vaccines - estimated cost:
$450/dog.

Noodles needs a dental: estimated cost over $1,000

Food, supplies, and routine veterinary care for all of our dogs costs approximately $350/mo per dog.

All of you who own pets KNOW the cost for ONE dog. Multiply that by 8!
