Our sweet boy Rocky left the vet today ❤️
Surgery was very successful and now he's on the road to recovery.
Thank you as always Town and Country Vet for everything.
He has several follow ups to continue. Xrays to make sure he's healing properly and will have staples removed in 10 days.
Continued medications to ensure no infection sets in.
Once he's closer to being healed, we can have him neutered.
He was so happy today and feeling so much better.
They also repaired the vein that had the damage causing the initial bleeding when we picked him up.
Swelling will go down over time. He's had so much trauma but so happy now.
Amazing how dogs show such resilience 🥹
So far we've raised about half of what his bill is and we've included a copy of that.
We still owe approximately $1,400
If we raise more then it can go towards his Neuter when that gets done in a few weeks. And finish his vaccinations.

Every day, local rescue organizations post another urgent plea. A box of puppies dumped on the side of the road. Kittens left without their mother. A dog wandering a neighborhood, hungry, injured or sick. The stories have become so common that many people barely notice them anymore.

💥Update💥
Rocky is stable now. Bleeding is under control and he's on good heavy pain management.
He will have surgery tomorrow. A plate and pin will be done, more xrays to check his hip and pelvis.
This poor dog has had so much trauma but is the sweetest ever.

Medical funds needed for Rocky.
Earlier today we received an email about an injured male GSD at our local shelter.
Previously adopted from our shelter back in Oct 2024
He had been what we think, hit by a car and picked up by AC.
After he arrived he was immediately scanned.
And an owner was found and contacted.
The owner went to the shelter to see their dog. And after seeing the extent of his injuries, he was unfortunately forced to surrender him.
We are not here to bash owners and understand due to their own medical situation they could not afford the medical costs for Rocky.
Truth be known, neither can we.
But after going up there, meeting him and spending time with him.
We couldn't turn this sweet poor soul away to be euthanized.
His face and his eyes just begged for help 🥺
And if you know us. You know we are suckers for dogs like Rocky.
When an opportunity allows us, we will try hard.
After alot of discussion and coordinating we got a plan together.

Our amazing vet Town and Country is able to get him in tomorrow at 2:30 🙏🙌
Until then he is under pain management at the shelter.
We have no idea what we'll find as far as the extent of his injury.
But as you can see and we saw personally, his back leg is dangling where the break is. 😩
He is such a broken boy. Physically and mentally 😪
Whatever the outcome, this will be an easy $1,200 just for the leg.
Then all the other things are needed.
He needs neutered.
4dx and bloodwork.
Fecals.
So we are praying our supporters and dog loving community can help us out.

We will update once Rocky is picked up.

UPDATE
Frankie's vetting has been covered
Thank you so much to an amazing supporter 🙏🥹❤️
Starting off the week with busting this beautiful girl out of our shelter.
Formerly named Maxine
We've now named her Frankie (Blue Eyes)
Frankie came into the shelter middle of June and has waited a month to get her freedom ride.
We thought she'd be adopted with her sweet nature but it never happened.
She participated in Rescue Runners and was a total sweetheart.
She was then placed on an urgent list for longest term dogs.
So we managed to make room in our last open foster.
Now we need to get Frankie to our vet for a few things as part of our new intake.
She's already spayed, had rabies vaxx and two intake vaxx, she's already microchipped.
She still needs a 4dx, f***l and Giardia test, monthly preventative, and her yearly booster vaxx in two weeks.
We need to raise $200 to pay for everything.
