NEXT QUESTION: THE INSURANCE COMPANY IS CALLING ME AFTER MY REPRESENTATION/ATTORNEY HAS FILED THE CLAIM? WHAT DO I SAY?
Insurance companies are running RAMPANT calling the insureds and trying to ask questions about damages even before setting initial inspection. BEWARE: if you have hired a public adjuster or an attorney to represent you it is in your best interest to not answer the calls. If you feel obliged to answer, you may tell them to contact your attorney and provide the number. EXAMPLE: During this disaster, Hurricane Irma, our client had the Insurance Adjuster show up to the home for initial inspection with not even a phone call to the insured. With or without representation you are to be notified of a time for initial inspection so you may be prepared to show the damages of your home. However, if you have representation you should not be contacted after the firm's Letter of Representation (LOR) has been submitted.
NEXT QUESTION: WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT OR PREPARE FOR INITIAL INSPECTION?
