My landlord randomly showed up today with NO notice and is now trying to evict me because of how my place looks??

Like are you serious??

You don’t just get to pop up unannounced, walk through MY space, and then decide on the spot that I have 5 days to get OUT.

I didn’t even have time to clean or anything, it was literally out of nowhere. If he would’ve let me know I could’ve straightened up a bit.

And now he’s talking about ā€œunsafe conditionsā€ and ā€œlease violationsā€ like that gives him the right to just kick me out immediately??

Like I know for A FACT that you CAN’T do that.

I’m pretty sure there are LAWS against this kind of thing but he’s acting like he can just do whatever he wants because he’s my landlord.

People really think they can just play with you because they’re a landlord. The police will be involved IMMEDIATELY 🤬

Whoever decided their roadside mailbox needed to be planted in enough cement to outlive a natural disaster… congratulations, you officially built a vehicle trap. 😭

I understand wanting a sturdy mailbox, but this thing looks less like a normal post and more like a roadside monument. The car is scraped up, the concrete base is barely touched, and the whole setup honestly looks like it was designed to win any fight with a vehicle.

At some point it stops being ā€œsecureā€ and starts becoming ridiculous. A mailbox does not need the structural integrity of a bridge support. If someone drifts a little too close to the shoulder, they should not be meeting a block of cement built like it belongs in a parking barrier.

Maybe I’m overreacting, but this feels way beyond normal mailbox territory.

🚨 Would you let them pour concrete on this?

We're having a 30'Ɨ35' patio installed on a sloped yard. The contractor assured us he could level everything out, but now we're looking at a form where the back edge will be over 20 inches high in some spots.

His solution is to add another board and some mesh, then pour as scheduled on Friday. He says the concrete is strong enough and there's no reason to worry.

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but this feels like a problem that could become very expensive later. Would you move forward or hit the brakes?

Is there hope of getting this sofa into our living room?
We stupidly purchased a second-hand sofa and only checked that it would fit in our van, but didn’t think to check that we could actually get it into the living room.

No AC, No Sweat!
Anyone else use their laundry chute to push cool air from the basement to their 2nd floor?

Discovered when replacing front deck...
Replacing the decking on our front deck. Pulled it up, and discovered this. Apparently the foundation wasn't the same shape as the house, so there's a ~4'x5' opening that drops into the basement. It's currently covered by OSB (I took down the drywall ceiling in the basement), which appears to be covered by pond liner.
