I wanted to see a different man in the mirror, and that took time.

It took cleaning things up.

It took making amends.

It took doing the work to become a better man.

I am not perfect, and I still am not.

I have reactions that come up. I feel anger.

I have thoughts that are not aligned with who I want to be. We all do. These are deeply programmed human patterns.

But I have a choice.

In every moment, I can ask myself if what I am about to do will allow me to look at myself in the mirror tonight.

I can ask if this is the most noble action available to me.

I can ask if there is a higher response, or a more harmonious way to move through the situation. Because becoming a better man is not a single decision. It is a daily practice.

It is choosing integrity when it is inconvenient. It is choosing truth when it costs something. It is choosing alignment over impulse.

Over time, those choices shape the man you become, and the man you see in the mirror.
