And so I began
Uninformed
And unformed
Unshaped
Unmolded like clay
And I too, was gray
Then suddenly
I grew in hues
Of purples and blues
Began to strut my stuff
Like a peacock does his feathers
Just trying to love and be loved
But then splotches of red appeared
My lilacs and periwinkles smeared
A beastly rage spilled everywhere
Like lions escaping their cages in a zoo
I was again different and new
But never knew
