There are artists who observe nature, and then there are artists who move through it.

Michele Oka Doner has spent decades working at the intersection of art, ecology, and the unseen forces that shape our world.

At our table this weekend, we’ll be sharing two of her recent zines—each rooted in a very different landscape, but connected by that same deep attention.

An Immersive World was developed during her time in Alaska with the Alaska Whale Foundation —an experience that became the foundation for Hello Whale, the film co-directed by our founder, Katherine Fleming. It’s a quiet, expansive look at marine life, observation, and presence.

Her Talisman project, recently publicly activated on Park Avenue in New York City, moves in another direction—bringing natural forms into the urban environment, asking how objects can hold meaning, memory, and protection within the built world.

Two bodies of work. Two ecosystems. One way of seeing that asks us to slow down and pay attention.

Find both at our table at the Miami Zine Fair.
