Currently in Manhattan, Kansas watching trends for this afternoon. The ceiling is extremely high for this event, but fail modes do exist. How quickly these storms congeal will be a major factor for today and good visible storms. Either way, multiple EF-2/3+ tornadoes are expected across central Kansas today. SPC has maintained a MODERATE 4/5 risk level for portions of KS, MO, and NE for this afternoon.

I’ll be LIVE from the Mississippi Weather Network on all platforms around 02:30 PM central time.

WOW! Crazy footage of the crash involving two EA-18 Growler fighter jets earlier this afternoon at Mountain Home Air Force Base. This occurred during the public FSS GunfighterSkies 2026 airshow. It appears all 4 aviators safely ejected from the plane. The airshow has been cancelled for the remainder.

The driver has been reported to have received minor injuries, although the truck suffered significant damage. The NTSB has opened an official investigation into the incident.

PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION (PDS) TOENADO WATCH NOW ISSUED UNTILL 11:00 PM.

I’ll be LIVE in the action here shortly as multiple large tornadoes, some possibly up to EF4, remain possible across the MS River Valley: Storm energy is off the charts right now due to large areas of undisturbed warm air.
