Elevated levels of and today.

It's another hot day across the region, but we're finally starting to see the pattern change for a day or two.

Most of the Treasure and Magic Valley stays hot and dry today, although I can't completely rule out a stray late day shower or thunderstorm. The better chance for storms today will be across central and eastern Oregon and the Idaho mountain valleys, where scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected. If you get under one, the biggest concerns will be lightning and blowy winds.

Tuesday looks equally active, with more scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region. I'll fine tune exactly who gets what over the next couple of days.

As always this time of year, don't focus only on the rain. Even storms that don't produce much precipitation can kick out strong outflow winds and plenty of lightning, which can create new fire starts.

Enjoy the heat, keep an eye on the sky this afternoon if you've got outdoor plans, don't be a dumb dumb, and I'll keep you posted if anything changes.
