Here’s a fun fact for you: Emotion impacts purchasing decisions 80% more than logic does.

This means that as consumers, we are more likely to purchase from those that we already know, like and trust. Especially when it comes to high ticket products or services. Your audience needs to form some kind of connection with you as a PERSON before they'll be ready to purchase from you.

Want to know the quickest way to establish a true connection with someone in the online space?

video.

This is because video is the closest you can come to actually being in the room with your audience. When you show up on video, your audience are able to physically see and connect with you human to human. They get to hear the emotion in your voice and see the emotion on your face that often gets lost through text. I know the thought of appearing on video can be scary, but trust me - it’s one thing that could potentially make or break your business.

There IS a way to promote your business in a way that makes the RIGHT people want to buy from YOU.

1. You have to be filled up in order to pour out in a genuine and authentic way.

The most important thing about promoting your business every day is you have to be filled up in order to pour back out. You have to be able to approach your promotions from a place of overflow vs. desperation.

2. You have to promote in a way that is genuine for you.
We have to think about HOW you are going to promote every day. Obviously, we don’t want to promote the same way every day; that would just be boring for our followers!

The biggest tip I can give you is to promote in a way that is genuine to you. Do this by following your creativity. Follow your passion.

3. You have to promote with perseverance and tenacity.
If we approach promoting our business with timidity and shyness, we will never make the impact we dream of. We have to be brave, we have to be bold!
Confidence is a MAJOR key 🔑.

Anyone who has started a business, especially if you’re doing it alone, has felt the deep fear of sharing themselves and becoming more visible online.

I’ve noticed that a fear of visibility online comes up around two main things.

1) The fear of doing something outside the norm. Something that isnt as “mainstream” as it seems to be, and that isn’t readily accepted by your friends or family.

2) The fear of not having the authority or being enough of an “expert” to share (a sort of imposter syndrome that makes us think “Who are we to speak on this? Who are we to create this?”)

For women our businesses are something different from what we used to do, so we’re still developing confidence in our brands.

And usually, women have a deep sense of integrity around not trying to present ourselves as more knowledgeable and “expert” than we actually are. The whole “fake it till you make it” mantra just feels off, and presenting ourselves as some-one we’re not feels manipulative.

Here are some tips:

1. Honor your fears and be vocal about. Your journey is more valuable and relatable than you think.

2. Focusing on only being visible to those who would support your work.

3. Take this process one step at a time. Business is not an all or nothing thing.

4. Use social media as a tool to network and make new friends especially if you are an in person introvert.

5. Find an accountability partner or business bestie.
