Hello Memphis friends! I’m teaching a two day workshop on basic electronics for artists at The Brooks Museum. Come learn a little bit about how any artist (sound / movement / visual / text / ?!?) can start using electricity, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers (like the Arduino) and other tools and techniques in their work. No experience needed, just curiosity.

An electronics starter kit is included in the price of the class. Let’s have some fun!

I’m not at all happy about the sudden news last week that Arrow Creative is closing. I’ve spent nearly 3 years here, making friends, becoming part of the community, helping out where I could, spending countless hours trying to build the labs into a meaningful community resource. And now it’s going away. Unfortunately, it’s a familiar scenario for most people who have spent their lives in the arts. Uff.

ANYWHO… so much love to the friends I’ve made here in the last few years, all the people who have come by my shop, everyone who has supported me in so many ways.

Thankfully, Arrow was just one piece in the giant messy beautiful puzzle of creative communities in Memphis. We’re all still here, tryna figure it out!

Mildly happy will continue doing local markets, and I’m gonna try to figure out how to move more stuff online. It’s hard selling weird, affordable upcycled clothing when people can’t try it on and everyone wants free shipping and returns. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We’ll figure it out together.
