A Message to Our Community
As of the end of January, the Memphis Area Prevention Coalition will no longer operate as an organizational work area of Church Health. While this chapter is coming to a close, we are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together and deeply grateful for the community members, partners, and supporters who made it possible. Most importantly, we are happy to share that our core services will continue through trusted partners who are committed to this work and this community.

Needle Exchange Services
Our harm reduction and needle exchange efforts are being transitioned to A Betor Way, an organization doing vital work to support health, dignity, and safety in Memphis. To learn more or stay connected, visit https://abetorway.org/ and follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates and service information.

Prevention and Harm Reduction Services
Our prevention and harm reduction services are being turned over to CAAP who will continue providing support and resources for those seeking recovery. You can find them on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089503234390
This transition reflects our commitment to ensuring that essential services remain accessible and that the work continues beyond our organization.

Thank you for standing with us over the years. We encourage you to stay engaged, follow our partner organizations, and continue supporting prevention, harm reduction, and recovery efforts in Memphis.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King reminded us that justice, dignity, and compassion are essential to building healthier communities. His work challenged us to care for one another, to reduce harm, and to stand for systems that protect life and human dignity.

At Safe Point, we believe that public health is part of that legacy. Creating safer communities means meeting people where they are, offering education, and supporting one another without judgment.

On this MLK Day, we reflect on the importance of service, equity, and care for our neighbors. Progress begins when we choose understanding over stigma and action over silence.

Prevention starts with the choices we make every day. Reusing or sharing syringes can spread serious infections like HIV and Hepatitis C in seconds. Using sterile supplies and disposing of used syringes safely protects your health and the health of those around you. Taking small steps toward safer practices can prevent lifelong consequences. Choose prevention. Choose care. Choose your well-being.
