The 383 Chrysler B-Block is Nearing Completion!
This gorgeous 383 Chrysler B-Block engine is coming together perfectly! We hope you've enjoyed following along with the progress and tech tips on this build so far.
Here is where we currently stand:
The Build: Custom 383 Chrysler B-block engine.
Performance Goal: We are looking to push out about 450 horsepower with this setup.
Destination: Once finished, this badass motor is heading to its new home in New York.
Final Pieces: We are just waiting on the balancer, valve covers, pulley kit, and fuel injection system to arrive so we can wrap things up.

We're making some serious progress on this 383 Chrysler B-block engine. At Proformance Unlimited, we believe in sharing our knowledge and showing you exactly what goes into our builds.
Here is a look at what we've dialed in so far:
Cooling System Optimization: We've made some custom corrections to the cooling system to ensure this engine runs exactly how it should.
Upgraded Valve Train Components: We've installed a beautiful set of tie-bar lifters for the roller camshaft setup.
Custom Finish: The block and intake have been fully custom-painted in-house.
Next Steps:
The valley pan is ready, and we are moving on to installing the heads and finishing up the valve train.

Unleashing the Beast: 7.3L Godzilla Meets Classic Iron 🐎🔥
There are engine swaps, and then there are transformations. We are getting ready to shoehorn a massive, modern 7.3L Godzilla V8 into a classic '68 Ford Mustang, and the streets aren't ready for this level of torque.
Take a look at the star of the show in the attached photo. Sitting beautifully on the engine stand, this modern pushrod power plant is fully dressed, dialed in, and ready to find its new home.
Why the Godzilla Swap?
Massive Displacement: At 445 cubic inches, it proves the old adage true—there really is no replacement for displacement.
Modern Power & Reliability: You get the iconic, timeless styling of a '68 Mustang paired with modern, fuel-injected dependability. Turn the key, and it just works.
Packaging: Despite the massive 7.3L volume, the traditional OHV (pushrod) design keeps the physical dimensions surprisingly compact compared to overhead-cam Coyotes, making it a brilliant candidate to fit between the classic Mustang shock towers.
As you can see from the stand, the details are already coming together. The blacked-out front accessory drive, aftermarket throttle body, and low-profile oil pan setup show that the clearances and aesthetics are being meticulously planned before the hoist even comes out. It takes a lot of measuring, custom fabrication, and patience to drop a 21st-century heavy-duty truck block into a 60s pony car, but that naturally aspirated torque curve will make every single busted knuckle worth it.
