🇺🇸 Why do people wear poppies on Memorial Day? Red poppies symbolize remembrance and respect for those who died in service to their country. It was originally inspired by the 1915 poem “In Flanders Fields,” by John McCrae, to honor those who died in WWI.

🇺🇸Rather than “Happy Memorial Day,” say something like “Have a meaningful Memorial Day,” as it is a day for remembering and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
