This sunny Salida day is looking really nice while we’re staring into a blizzard here in Denver!

Cannon Beach is a coastal town in Oregon known for its iconic Haystack rock that was featured in the Goonies. However this photo is NOT of Cannon Beach!

This was taken in Rockaway Beach that is located 25 miles south of Cannon. Yes Rockaway is a little sleepier but it is just as picturesque, the beach is larger, dog friendly and there are NO crowds!

It is also easier to find beachside rentals for a much lower rate and Rockaway is a great home base to explore all the little towns on Oregon's northern coast such as Cannon Beach, Manzanita, and Tillamook.

Rockaway also is home to Old Oregon Smokehouse that is a must for fresh seafood. We can't recommend the halibut fish n' chip and crab melt more! But truly everything is to die for at this Oregon institution.
