It is easy to get bogged down right now... and honestly, there is a lot to be bogged down about. Democracy feels like it is at a perilous tipping point. Our state is passing hateful laws while cutting taxes for those who can afford them and shifting the costs onto the shoulders of those least able to bear them. Roads and schools are crumbling while cities cut corners. It is a lot.
But there is also good happening, and I don't want to lose sight of that. Today I got to witness something that genuinely filled my bucket back up. Our community came together for a food delivery partnership...a beautiful collaboration between an incredible group of volunteers and the NH Food Bank. Watching people show up for each other, no fanfare, just neighbors taking care of neighbors...it reminded me why this work matters.
The world has a way of emptying your bucket lately. But moments like this fill it right back up.

And speaking of the NH Food Bank (if you are looking for somewhere to direct your generosity tomorrow for NH Gives, put them at the top of your list.)

Thanks go to Rep. Dan Veilleux for this graphic. It explains many components of what has increased property taxes.
