Meet the Girl Taking On Climate Change One Tree at a Time 03/14/2024

"Meet the Girl Taking On Climate Change One Tree at a Time
Supported by her father, 11-year-old Prasiddhi Singh speaks out about the power of youth at the United Nations annual Climate Conference.

She was four years old when a cyclone devastated her hometown. Six when she started cold-calling landowners to get them to plant new trees. Ten when National Geographic shone a light on her work. And 11 when she attended her first United Nations Climate Conference.

Meet Prasiddhi Singh, a young changemaker from the southernmost state in India.

“I don’t know why, but I’ve always had this unconditional bond with nature,” Prasiddhi says. “It really engaged me, even before I started to walk and talk. I gain inspiration from the buzzing of bees, the magic of trees.”

Look to this day,
For it is life,
The very life of life.
In its brief course lie all
The realities and verities of existence,
The bliss of growth,
The splendor of action,
The glory of power –

For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a visio.
But today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day.

Sanskrit proverb by Kalidasa, Indian poet and playwright 4th century A.D.

Prevent and treat all diseases with this simple exercise.

Practice standing (or sitting if needed) 20 minutes twice daily. Work your way up! Best do in the morning second time in the evening if you feel as though you need to do it twice. You can begin slowly and work your way up :)

🌞 By swinging the arms, bending the knee and hip, we stimulate the Heart, Pericardium, San Jiao, Large Intestine, Lung, Small Intestine, Bladder, Stomach, Spleen, Kidney, Liver, and Gallbladder meridians. This helps the body have proper circulation, it strengthens all organs, boosts Qi and Blood flow, promotes water metabolism, improves digestion, and strengthens the body’s natural detoxification process.

- 1: Stand with your feet and hands shoulder width apart. Point your hands forward and smile. Breathe naturally, feel calm. Swing both arms downwards and let them bounce back naturally without pushing. Every five swings bend your knees, in a small squat, you can do that twice for more advanced method. Repeat this for 20 minutes, work your way up.

- 2: When you have about 5 minutes left, practice at a slower pace. Fill your mind with happy thoughts.

- 3: When you’re finished, continue to breathe deeply, and think of happy thoughts.

Practice this consistently and you will feel mental and physical improvements! Take care and feel healthy!
