May 16 & June 20, 2026 There's progress with the fence-clearing project at Hooper-McWilliams Cemetery. If you can join our volunteers at the next work session on Sat., 9/12/2026 from 10am to 11am, please signup by email [email protected].
In 2025 volunteers tackled an overgrown forest entanglement of vines, bushes and trees engulfing the chain link fence separating the cemetery from Georgia Power property. Photos from the most recent 2 work sessions show Lisa and George clearing vegetation revealing more fence visibility, but it may take another year to complete the project.

5/9/2026 The FOOD FOREST is florishing at the Turner-Sewell Cemetery! By identifying food producing vegetation and flowers, volunteers support their growth by manual removal of surrounding invasive vegetation throughout the cemetery. After the 6 member volunteer team cleared leaves, English ivy, mimosas, etc. for 1 hour, we enjoyed harvesting some large ripe organic blackberries in the garden area. Check the River Line calendar and register for future volunteer opportunities https://riverline.org/calendar/
