Our October sensory box is here — and it’s full of hands-on, fine motor fun with a Halloween twist! Designed by a mama + OT 💕 to spark creativity, coordination, and confidence through purposeful play.

Each box includes:
🧡 Orange rice & black beans as the spooky sensory filler
🏚️ Haunted house with lacing holes to thread pipe cleaners through (practice fine motor control + open/close play!)
🪦 Tombstone container with a hole — kids can drop treasures inside and dump them back out to find them again!
🧙‍♀️ Cauldron for magical potion-making fun
🦴 A mix of fine motor manipulatives — bats, witches, spiders, pumpkins, ghosts, and bones!
🔢 Matching “Find & Count” cards (1–7) so little ones can search for and match each spooky item while working on early counting and number recognition

I’m Alexis — a pediatric occupational therapist and mama who LOVES creating playful, screen-free activities for my toddler. We started making themed sensory boxes and crafts for my daughter and her best friend each month, and it turned into something so sweet I wanted to share it with other families, too!

This month’s “Red, White, and Bloom” sensory box is filled with all things sparkly, floral, and festive - think soft textures, fun scoopers, and endless ways to pretend you’re running your own flower shop! 💐✨

We designed these boxes with littles in mind - helping them explore textures, practice fine motor skills, and most importantly… have fun without screens! 🎨👐🏼
