So many people that are dealing with awful
Anxiety don’t realize that there body is not attacking them! it’s actually trying to keep them safe. I pray and hope this sheds some new light on this subject and provides some comfort.

Dear Anxiety,

If anyone has ever been more misunderstood it’s you.. You stand by me day and night. You saw me when I got hurt and vowed to protect me from ever letting that happen again. You take charge and lead the way, always on the lookout for danger. There is nothing that gets by you.

Even when I try to ignore you or push you away you never fail to let me know that you will always be there in spite of my efforts to leave you behind. You care for me so much that you are willing to never take a break to ensure my safety and survival.

Your sole purpose and reason for existence is to protect me at any cost. You are my bodyguard. The reason I have not loved you in the past is because your methods have been hurtful. Your good intentions have stumbled mean.By trying to help me you have hindered me. I am letting you know that I see you. I hear you. You have done your job above and beyond. For that I thank you.

No one has worked harder than you to win all my attention. I believe there is a way we can save our relationship if you’ll listen to what I have to say right now. I have not been in danger for a long time now. You need to understand that I am safe now. I am stronger and more self-assured. You can finally relax and take a much-needed rest.

I have grown so much since you first came into my life. If you really do have my best intention at heart, you will lay down your sword and let me take the lead. I’m not asking you to leave. I’m only asking that you trust me to do the right things to take care of myself. You can stay with me as an advisor. If you have messages for me, you may whisper them in my ear. You don’t have to yell at me anymore.
