The final mixes on my upcoming Oscar Brown Jr. album are being completed in the studio. The projected release date for the album is late July or early August. Stay tuned for the exciting announcement!
I’ve spent some time establishing my promotional team for the album release. I’ll be working with music promoters around the country, and also producing some promotional videos for my YouTube Channel. Other surprises are coming!
My website, www.amberweekes.com, is also undergoing a complete redesign. It will feature new promotional materials and also new photos taken by portrait and advertising photographer Starla Fortunato . created a whole new look for me to reflect the vibe needed for my upcoming album, “To Oscar, With Love.”
Congratulations to my sister, Nicole Y. Weekes, on her well-deserved retirement! Last Thursday, a celebration was held for her at Pomona College in Claremont, where she has served as the Harry S. and L. Madge Rice Thatcher Professor of Psychological Science and Profess or Neuroscience since 1998.
Nicole has devoted her professional life to researching and understanding how the brain and body work together, and how to reduce stress. As the granddaughter of someone who died early, her work reflects her deep commitment to the wellbeing of humans. In 2016, she was appointed Associate Dean of Faculty to help lead efforts to further diversify its ranks. On three occasions, in 2001, 2006, and 2011, she won the Wig Distinguished Professor Award, the college’s highest faculty honor, in recognition of her teaching.
