As the United States reaches its 250th anniversary, this half hour documentary provides an honest and compelling look at the American Experience today through three types of artists, each in their own medium. You’ll meet famous “techno-cubism” artist James Pate, the harmony driven folk duo the Montvales, and Academy-Award winner and documentary director Steven Bognar!

Tonight at 9:00 PM PST we premiere a brand new episode of NOVA to celebrate America at 250, “Athens: Birth of Democracy”!

Before there was a Constitution, self governance, and the idea of the Vote, seeds of democracy had been planted in Greece near 2,500 years ago. Follow archeological investigations into the dramatic origins of democracy in this brand new episode. We’ll explore mass graves and ancient ruins where tyrants were murdered, shining a new light on how democracy rose as a form of governance.

Tonight at 7:00 PM PST we premiere “Corps Man”, a heart-wrenching true story with intimate interviews and archival footage never shown before.

“Corps Man” is the untold true story of Mexican American combat corpsman Dave Lara and his band of brothers known as “The Group”, who all kept the biggest secret during the Vietnam War. For the first time in film, Dave tells his story of how he and The Group navigated a hostile societies and military as gay men at a time when it was criminal to be themselves.
