Besides autism is beautiful. My reaction to a neurodivergence diagnosis is almost always congratulations. Cuz the autism (or adhd, PDA etc) was already in there, now you have the knowledge and legal status to hopefully get the support you need.

Present multimodal communication methods and see what sticks. But we’re not going to be withholding just because he’s not using our preferred method of communication.
