I have not posted in over a year, but with a very heavy heart, I wanted to pay tribute to the late Charlotte Figi, an epilepsy warrior who, with the determination, kindness and eloquence of her incredible mother , was able to influence policy and public perception of cannabis in the nation and around the world. Her story opened our eyes to what was possible with cannabis as a medicine.

As a fellow epilepsy warrior, Charlotte’s story provided me with the confidence to begin my own recovery journey with cannabis, which changed my life for the absolute better. It is so hard to imagine how a child can fight, and win, against all odds, to then pass away due to complications from COVID-19. Although I cannot get over the sorrow of such a senseless death, I will try to focus on the fact that, in her short 13 years of life, she impacted so many and will remain a symbol of inspiration in the epilepsy and cannabis communities.
