Before taking Bodee up in the air, it is important to see how he responds and reacts to being in the airplane on the ground. There are a lot of factors that I have to take into account when flying and two primary ones in this case are weight and balance and CG (center of gravity). Having a moving dog in the back of the airplane is dangerous. It involuntarily moves my CG, which in laymen terms unbalances the angle on the aircraft. Technically, I can have 120 lbs of luggage in my cargo area. Bodee is 70+ lbs now. But if you look at the diagram for my airplane I need most of his weight to stay forward in the cargo area.

Having a dog that wants to come to the front of the airplane and potentially manipulating the controls is deathly. In my car Bodee would be in my lap if it were possible.
So what you see here is me checking the temperament of in a new environment, a loud engine and compact space. I will likely do this once more with his noise canceling ear muffs and safety harness to deter too much movement before being airborne. So while it is so cool to be able to fly with my little, big love, it’s more important that he and I are as safe as possible. I’m very proud of my pup, I work hard to train him well and he passed this test of staying put, great! 🤎🫶🏾

As I’ve been closely monitoring the Artemis II mission it really hit me just how wild this is… I’ve actually met and been in full conversation with someone who is currently in space. 🚀🛰️

Like, at one point, we were literally standing next to each other here on Earth 🌍 and now astrovicglover orbiting above it. 👩🏾‍🚀 🤯

I can’t fully wrap my mind around that. Honestly, if I didn’t have the photo, I’m not sure I’d even believe it myself.

I don’t get in a tizzy about celebrities but I DO get excited about being in the presence of intellectuals, thought leaders, renowned journalists, trailblazers, pilots, pioneers, and a WHOLE ASTRONAUT.

So randomly thinking back on that conversation and coming across this photo again? It kind of geeked and freaked me out… in the absolute BEST way. Truly amazing to be in his orbit! 🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌓🌔
