The woman who has lived in the same house for exactly 108 years 💕

Mrs Elsie Allcock, who turns 108 years old today, has lived in the same two-bedroom home in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, since she was born there on June 28, 1918.

Elsie grew up in the house, and after her mum died when Elsie was 14, she continued to live there to help look after her elderly father, taking cleaning jobs to help earn a little money.

After her dad had passed away, Elsie and her late husband Bill then bought the house in 1960 for £250, which she says was considered "a lot of money" at the time. Back then, the house didn't even have electricity. There was a single gas light in the living room, which was operated by pennies.

Through her life, Elsie has witnessed the reigns of five monarchs and two World Wars. With her husband, she welcomed two children, six grandchildren, and over thirty great-grandchildren.

She told reporters a couple years back: "I've never left, and I won't. They'll have to take me from here."
