SHOCKING NEWS: David Schmies, 27, of Wisconsin, is accused of brutally abusing a 3-month-old baby who was found with 15 broken ribs, a fractured skull, brain bleeding, and multiple broken bones in both legs. Schmies allegedly claimed the injuries happened after the infant “fell off a bed,” but doctors said the injuries were in different stages of healing — suggesting the abuse may have been happening over an extended period of time.
The baby survived. Schmies is now facing child abuse charges after reportedly breaking down in tears when questioned about what happened.

A 78-year-old Florida landlord allegedly grabbed a machete and slashed his tenant during an argument over trash.

Police say Victor Rodriguez-Polledo suddenly yelled, “What the f--- are you looking at?” before allegedly chasing the tenant outside with the weapon. The victim suffered deep cuts to his right arm and wrist while trying to block the attack. One wound reportedly measured nearly 3 inches long.

The two men allegedly wrestled on the ground until a witness stepped in and took the machete away. The witness also suffered a cut to the hand during the struggle.

Rodriguez-Polledo was arrested and is now facing aggravated assault charges while being held without bond.

A 22-year-old pregnant woman was found brutally murdered inside her apartment just weeks before she was due to give birth to a baby girl.

Prosecutors said Liese Dodd, who was nearly 8 months pregnant, was killed by her boyfriend, Deundrea Holloway, in a case that horrified the community. Authorities said he later decapitated her and dumped her head in a nearby dumpster before fleeing the scene.

Two lives were lost in one of the most disturbing crimes to come out of Illinois in recent years. Holloway was eventually sentenced to 60 years in prison.
