Our office has long been inspired by the work of Dan Kiley. Kiley’s baffled hedge allows the surrounding gardens to feel accessible yet defines the space and adds privacy.

At the center of this re-envisioned mid-century landscape, a shallow corten steel bowl creates a quiet fountain feature. Plantings of Lomandra and low-growing juniper soften the strong lines of the architecture, adding texture and seasonal interest.

Inspiration from Carlo Scarpa. Love Scarpa’s thoughtful combination of materials. In this garden, the way he juxtaposes modern forms with the warm, weathered brick of the surrounding structure is beautiful. And then there’s the simple yet richly textured plant palette.
