For more everyone asking how my daughter is, how our family is - thank you. I’m happy to share she just bravely completed 27 rounds of radiation, and we’re able to enjoy a bit of time together as a family for a few weeks. Thank you for every kind word, prayer, vibe put out into the universe in her honor. 💗

I’m excited to get back into the studio after being away all week… but this time of the year it always feels a bit harder to prioritize painting. All of the outdoor work that needs to get done always feels so urgent (the cleaning up, weeding, re-mulching, new planting, etc…), in addition to regular life’s chaos, and I feel like yard work eats up my weekends in the spring. But I’ve made a promise to myself that on my free weekends I will paint first! And yard work will just have to be second.

I REALLY love an art museum. 💗 This past weekend I was able to visit the Smithsonian American Art Museum for the first time during our quick family getaway to DC, and it was fantastic. My girls aren’t exactly the “museum type”, but they, and my husband, humored me, and we explored the main areas I wanted to see the most for a few hours. Their collection of impressionists, specifically their collection of Monet, was a big highlight, as was the Mary Cassat exhibition. And my girls got a kick out of seeing a DaVinci painting in person and a few paintings by Van Gogh and Degas.
