Something I struggle with often, especially since I have retired, is how I can serve God. I pray about it, I think about different things to do, I talk about with my husband and I feel like I still don’t ever get an answer. I spent many years in a previous church working hard to volunteer for many things thinking that was what I was supposed to do. However, this morning while waking and listening to my pastor on a podcast he was discussing several things and one thing that he touched on was ways to serve. When he went through the list it wasn’t volunteering for all the things at church or joining a ministry but instead it was simply helping others, sharing Jesus and being available for others through prayer, encouragement, financially and our time. I pray today that I will see the opportunities that are put before me and not miss the chance to show the love of Jesus.

I pray today that whoever reads this is fully armored up in the Holy Spirit!

Ephesians 6:10-12
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

My family, like many other families, have faced many difficulties and losses. Sometimes it seems we have had more than our share. However, looking back, it is so clear to see how God was always there and ready to bring us to the other side. The side of victory. We often make things so much more difficult than what it has to be because of our lack of faith and always trying to do things on our own. Today, my cousin who has been burdened for over 20 years with grief and anger, finally reached the other side, the side of victory, by giving every tear, every drop of anger and every question to God! Today I’m so thankful for what He can now do in her life! He has called her by name!!❤️

The psalmist asks God why his heart is so sad and why he must go through a time of oppression by his enemies. God never asks us to understand, he asks us to obey and glorify him as we do so.

“As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God.” Psalm 42:1-2
