I was donated an old Singer sewing machine from a lady answering my ad on Craig's List...said it had all kinds of problems and didn't know if it was even fixable...had It right in no time...all it needed was a thorough cleaning and balanced...I doubt if it had ever been serviced. Your sewing machine has to be serviced at least once a year depending on how much you use it...so call and make an appointment now.
